Sunny Day Mode: “Free” Heating/Cooling
When the sun’s out and your solar panels are generating ample power, your heat pump runs entirely on that free, renewable energy, providing heating or cooling with zero electricity cost from the grid.
Cloudy Day Mode: Grid Smart-Supplementation
Even on cloudy days, your system stays efficient. Your solar panels provide partial power, and the grid intelligently supplements the rest, ensuring your heat pump operates stably and efficiently without interruption.
Night Mode: Grid Power Supply
At night, when solar power isn’t available, your heat pump seamlessly switches to grid electricity. Its energy consumption during this time is comparable to a standard unit, still offering ZN’s inherent efficiency benefits.

Our solar heat pumps deliver significant energy savings with a modest number of solar panels. Our smallest models work efficiently with just 5-6 solar panels, while our largest models require only 14-17 solar panels to achieve substantial energy reductions.
Smart Efficiency for All Climates
ZN’s solar heat pumps use DC inverter technology to run the compressor precisely as needed, avoiding frequent stops and starts and saving energy. This technology also maintains a steady water temperature by adjusting speed, controlling it within 0.1°C for stable indoor comfort.
With EVI technology, our heat pumps expand their operating range and work reliably in extremely cold climates. EVI also boosts heat output and improves performance (COP) significantly at low temperatures (-12°C to -30°C).
